During 6 years from 1976 to 1982, We experienced 5 cases of cystosarcoma phyllodes in Depart. of Surgery, Korea General Hospital. We report 5 cases with review of literatures, and the results are summarized briefly as follows.
1) Two cases were in 2nd decade of life, one was in 3rd decade, one was in 4th decade, and remaining one was in 6th decade.
2) Four of the five cases were admitted with the chief complaint of painless lump of breast which was suddenly increased in size following long period of slow growth.
3) The lumps of two cases were located in left breast, and three were in right side.
4) Three cases were managed with wide local excision, and two with simple mastectomy.
5) All 5 cases were benign cystosarcoma phyllodes, and revealed no evidence of metastasis.
6) One case had two discrete masses of left breast.
7) Postoperative course was uneventful in all 5 cases.
